Thunder Hill Wines in Northern China

In late April 2015, Stephen and Rebecca had the pleasure of meeting Chinese customers in Dalian. The new release 2013 Gemini Shiraz and 2013 Aries Cabernet Sauvignon had travelled well and had arrived in terrific condition (much the same as Stephen and Rebecca!). Mr Bernard Sun of Dalian Coglory Co Ltd (a premier wine cellar), was impressed by the wines and thought that the fruit driven Shiraz was perfect for the marketplace. He also commended the Cabernet Sauvignon and said that both wines would cellar happily for 3-5 years, but were also perfect for drinking now. We were grateful to meet with Mr Sun and his wife, both of whom have excellent wine knowledge. We visited a number of other retail outlets and although the ratio of Australian wines was low compared to French wines, we were very pleased to see great Australian wines such as Grant Burge, Glaetzer Wines, Coriole, John Duval and Penfolds in the stores. We are excited by the opportunity to showcase Thunder Hill with our Chinese customers and look forward to returning soon.

Rebecca enjoyed a tea ceremony (in between wine tastings), and was fortunate to try high quality green tea, red tea and Pu’re tea.
